This fast paced presentation is going to run through a number of common things that you should be doing to keep your server in top shape. We'll review the standard maintenance steps like backups and index maintenance, best practices for granting and managing access, basic disaster recovery planning, and we'll talk about some easy to miss stuff like trimming the SQL agent job history and the SMTP email log. We'll finish up with a discussion of some free resources that can every DBA should know about.
